CEO
I am Walter De Brouwer and I run OLPC Europe. I left academia in 1989 and was involved in two international IPO’s (Stepstone [LSE: sso], Eunet-Qwest [nyse:Q]. I am known for an idealistic endeavor: Starlab, Europe’s private blue-sky research Laboratory (called ‘Nerd Heaven’) that once, like Paul Allen’s Interval and Xerox Parc specialized in highly advanced deep future research. I was named many things in the media, but the one I prefer is Corriere della Sera’s: the “Woody Allen del business”. |

Advocacy Director
I graduated in Art History and Philosophy with a baccalauréat from Lycee de Sèvres (Paris) to join the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, an Amsterdam-based university of applied sciences for Fine Arts and Design. In the midst of the internet exuberance I moved to Brussels to set up one of the first online recruitment companies 'Jobscape' which was merged into Stepstone. In the mid-nineties I became part of the initial Starlab team and ran the sponsorship department; that was my first experience with the MIT MediaLab. From 2001 until 2004, I was the director of the National Institute for Teleworkers in Belgium that designed the first micro-entrepreneurship courses together with the University of Antwerpen and the European Social Fund. I am now the Advocacy Director of OLPC Europe. |

Director, 2.0 Strategy
I am Misha Chellam. I've been working in small organizations with big ambitions since I graduated from Pomona College in 2004. My first job was as a singer/songwriter in the band Speechwriters LLC, which toured throughout the US and had its songs licensed for network TV and film. After that I worked as a campaign aide on Jim Webb's successful Senate race, as a business developer for the Hanoi-based family conglomerate Vietnam Land, and as a business strategist for the payment technology start-up HomeATM. I am particularly excited to work at OLPC because, as a native of the Silicon Valley, I fundamentally believe in the transformative power of technology and personal computing. |
